Summary:
We have a host of experience in printing for schools and we are proud to work with a local grammar school in producing their school magazine.
The annual publication showcases student achievements in sports, music, arts and of course the academic and social side of the school.
Editorial control of the magazine production is entrusted to the senior year student magazine team each year and they are fully responsible for the design of the project.
To help with the process the studio team at Scanplus help with advice, page artwork templates and feedback on any artwork issues – good quality high resolution images, appropriate bleed allowance and page trim marks are all essential factors in providing print-ready files.
Once the students have finalised their first draft artwork we produce a few advance proof copies of the made-up book for the editorial team to check everything over. These book proof copies give the team a welcome opportunity to make any late changes to the artwork before we proceed with print production.
On approval we litho printed the magazine in full colour and bound with a square backed PUR finish. The crisp design lines, vibrant images and matt laminated outer cover with spot gloss UV finish combined together to define a tactile, professional looking printed piece. The completed magazine was outstanding and the students (who had given hours of their spare time to the cause) involved in the project deserve high praise indeed.
Students, parents, staff and alumni alike were delighted with the finished magazines. We hope that the experience of working with Scanplus has helped give the students some help and knowledge of the print publishing process that will hold them in good stead for years to come.
